Are you a planner? Or a last-minuter-lover?
Put in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator terms (I work for the company that publishes this psychometric personality assessment), do you prefer Judging or Perceiving? I prefer Judging, which means I like plans, schedules, itineraries, and making decisions ahead of time and then sticking with them. When plans change, I tend to get more frazzled than usual. Others (like people who prefer Perceiving), love keeping options open and waiting until the last minute to make decisions, because it means they can get as much info as possible and explore options before moving forward. Sunflowers apparently prefer Perceiving. And apparently they only last about 2 weeks, as I learned recently when I tried to book sunflower mini sessions. By the time I was told about the field, promoted the mini sessions, scheduled them with clients and it was time to shoot, the combined recent heat and storms had made for a very petal-less sunflower situation. But, after the storm comes the rainbow, and given the choice between sunflowers and this dreamy, neutral-hued lakeside session, I'm personally in favor of these timeless, all-season photos! Also, Brittany and her family NAILED it in the outfits, color coordination and look and feel. Love it when clients do that (potentially with the help from the style guide I sent to my clients). And their little girl Nora was the CUTEST. I love these photos so much, in fact, that I'm planning to do my holiday mini sessions at this exact location, though with some red bows, real garland and possibly a giant circular wreath to frame the shots (gotta convince my husband to lend me the powertools for that one.) Thank you Brittany and family for trusting me to take these photos, even when the sunflowers were no longer available! I'm absolutely obsessed with how these came out, and I hope you love them as much as I do. ^*^**^*^Click each image to see it uncropped*^*^*^**^
