This is the second year I've had the pleasure of working with Melissa's family and dare I say it gets better every year? It does!
This year, we watched the weather closely as rain storms have been taking over the Southeast for weeks, and I was worried that we'd have to reschedule and that our schedules wouldn't overlap. But the skies were with us and it rained out in the ocean, and further inland, but the stretch of beach we met at stayed nice and dry. Most people think that you want bright sunny weather for photo sessions. Bright and sunny is good if you're able to shoot first thing in the morning or around sunset, but other than that bright sun causes shadows and squinting - neither of which are beloved by photographers or people whose photos you're taking! Plus, cloudy weather works as a natural soft light filter. And the neutral tones you end up with put the subjects front and center. No distractions from the people in the photos - which is why you're having these photos taken in the first place! I feel so honored that Melissa and her boys asked me to photograph them again this year. It's really a special thing as a photographer to have families come back to you, and to get to see the growing and maturing of the little ones who turn into not-so-little ones as time goes by! Thanks Melissa for trusting me to photograph your family (again)! Hope you love these as much as I do! *^*^*^*^Click each image to see it uncropped**^*^*^*^*^*
